What are Special Libraries and Collections?

Welcome to Special Libraries and Collections!

This library guide is a collection of various libraries that are not considered public, academic, or school libraries.  Types of special libraries include history, medical, law and legal, conservation, art, and music.  Often corporations and other organizations have their own library for their employees, which are generally not open to the public, although permission may be requested by contacting the special library. This LibGuide is a continually expanding work in progress, and it is updated with new information regularly.
